Le Prof. Pergament, du Department of Information Measuring Systems and Physical Electronics, Petrozavodsk State University (PSU), Russie, donnera un séminaire le Vendredi 23 Octobre 2015 à 10h dans la salle XR203 à XLIM. Son séminaire s’intitule « Metal-Insulator Transitions and Electronic Switching in Transition Metal Compounds ».
Abstract. The presentation consists of two parts: i) brief info about Petrozavodsk State University and Lab of Oxide Electronics, and ii) the scientific part itself devoted to the author’s area of research. The latter focuses on the brief introduction to the history of the problem of metal-insulator transitions (MIT) and the current state of the art, mainly as far as the study of MIT and associated electronic switching in vanadium dioxide is concerned. A description of the joint work with XLIM, on applied potentialities of the discussed phenomena, will be also presented.
Short biography of the author. Prof.’s Pergament research mainly focuses on the physics of oxide films, switching effects and metal-insulator transitions. He is an expert in the field of transition metal oxides and oxide electronics. He is actively involved in developing research towards «Emerging neuromorphic devices integrating correlated electronic materials for the new paradigms of communication» (XLIM-PSU collaboration financed by the Russian-French program of scientific exchange “Mechnikov fellowship”).
